Their corresponding muscles - Sternocleidomastoid muscle (S.C.M.) divides the neck into two large triangles - The triangular space in front of (S.C.M.) is called the anterior triangle (A-Triangle) of the neck, and that laterally behind it, the posterior triangle ( P-TRIANGLE ).
