The back of the head and neck

The braincase (or neurocranium) determines the form of the back of the head. Meanwhile, muscles, such as the trapezius muscle, shape the back of the neck. The head and neck meet at the superior nuchal line. Its midpoint is marked by the external occipital protuberance.
