The picture illustrates the complex structure of the knee with all of its components: bones, ligaments, tendons, and fat pads. Colored in light brown are the numerous bony landmarks visible on the surface. These are the following: medial and lateral femoral epicondyles, patella, medial and lateral tibial condyles, fibular head, and tibial tuberosity. Prominently visible on the lower leg is also the medial surface of the tibia.
