Facial fat pads are multiple independent subcutaneous compartments separated by the retaining ligaments – strong and deep fibrous attachments that act as anchor points, retaining the stabilizing of the soft tissue. These retaining ligaments are important landmarks of the face that occupy predictable anatomic locations.
